A funeral or memorial service highlights your loved one and the life they lived. It is a unique time to reflect and can be an important step in the grieving process. When making decisions about a service or ceremony, we walk alongside you and your family to consider religious and cultural beliefs, finances and all available options.
Cherished Memories offers a safe place to experience your emotions, whatever they may be. You do not need to be in control. You are welcome to ask questions and will never by pressured into making decisions on the spot. There should always be time to discuss and confer with other family members.
One of the first decisions you'll have to make is to choose between burial or cremation. At Cherished Memories, we can assist you in making this decision, whether it be based on personal preferences, environmental considerations, or religious beliefs.
Burial
A casket burial is quite often referred to as a traditional service, and there are many options you can choose from. We can provide an immediate burial without a public service; a visitation, viewing or wake with a closed or open casket; a funeral service at our funeral home, church or private home followed by a graveside service at a cemetery.
We encourage active participation by the family in planning all portions of the service. Family members can do a reading, perform a musical tribute or deliver a personalized tribute about their loved one.
Cremation
Cremation has become a popular option for many people because it can be more flexible as to where and when you hold a service. You can have a traditional funeral service before a cremation or a memorial service/celebration of life at any time with or without the urn present. You can keep the urn, scatter the cremated remains, or have the urn buried in a grave or columbarium where we can hold a service. Whether you choose burial or cremation, we’re here to offer you a meaningful ceremony.
