Gerald Spencer REEVES

With loved ones around him, Gerald Spencer Reeves passed away at home January 17, 2023 at the age of 75 years. He fought a courageous battle against cancer over a 3-year period. Gerry was born January 10, 1948 in Vancouver, BC and lived in Fernie, BC for the last 42 years.

Gerry was predeceased by his parents Helen and Cyril Reeves and sister Christa.  Gerry is survived by his wife Gail, his three sons: Darren (Novalee), Shawn (Amber) and Colin (Stacey), his eight beautiful grandchildren: Jaden, Danik, Corbin, Sutter, Truan, Smith, Maleah, and Everly, and his sister Donna.

Gerry had a passion for his family, athletics, music, and self improvement. He was a professional engineer, financial advisor, karate instructor, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He loved spending time singing folk songs with friends and family around a campfire. Gerry had a strong affection for karate, achieving multiple black belts in different styles. He was also a very talented guitar player and song writer. Gerry loved his time at Kootenay Lake where he enjoyed golfing and fishing on his boat with his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will occur in the Spring at the Reeves family home to celebrate this wonderful person. The Reeves family would like to thank all the Elk Valley Hospital and Home Care staff, with a special thank you to Dr. Paul Michal and Dr. Shayne Soetaert for their great care.
