Barry Bissonette passed away peacefully with his wife, Heather, by his side. He is predeceased by his parents Wilbert and Margaret Bissonette. Barry was born in Bracebridge, Ontario in 1948. He travelled to Alberta in the mid 70’s and then settled in BC. He lived a full life going on many trips near and far with his adventure partner, Heather.
Barry worked for 23 years at Fording River where he had a passion for running the many different pieces of equipment. He had a backhoe at home and it was not an unusual sight to see him in every season on the backhoe from digging holes, plowing snow or dragging trees.
Family was very important to Barry, he enjoyed watching his 3 grandchildren explore different sports as they grew up. Barry also had a dog, Maya, and his love for her was apparent. Maya loved crawling on to his lap for cuddles when he sat down for a glass of wine before dinner.
Barry is survived by his wife of 56 years, his daughter Kim Bezak, 3 grandchildren; Riliegh Olesen (Jens), Wyatt Bezak (Lindsay), Hunter Bezak (Tanner) and 4 great-grandchildren; Sahen, Indy, Kase and Harper. He is predeceased by siblings Bill (Mona/Peggy), Terry (Sally) and his twin brother Larry (Shirley/Karla) also survived by his siblings, Mitch (Gayle), Patsy Flett (Neil), Mary Defoe (Percy) and Chris (Marg).
