Yvonne Betty Atwood, or GG as she was affectionately known, died peacefully after a short illness on June 25, 2024 in Fernie, BC. She was born on June 22, 1935 in Vancouver, BC.

Yvonne was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Walter in 2001 and her daughter, Wendy in 2004. She is survived by her son David (Marion), grandchildren Jennifer (Christopher), Brayden (Lindsay) and Corby (Kara); great grandchildren Seth, Coraline and Ford. She will be missed by her relatives and friends.

Yvonne and Walter married in Vancouver on June 27, 1953. Yvonne was a career homemaker and enjoyed her time with her family. In 2015 she moved from Vancouver to Elkford to be with David and Marion and of course the great grandchildren. She loved travelling to the Dominican Republic where she became “Abuela” to all of her dear friends there.

The Atwood family would like to thank Dr. Soetaert and the staff at the Elk Valley Hospital, in particular, Barb, Victoria and Leslie for the truly wonderful care and compassion given to Yvonne. Please no flowers or donations.
