Vince Fabiano passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025, in Fernie, BC, with his wife Alba by his side. He was born on May 14, 1942, in Castelsilano, Italy.
Vince is predeceased by his son Luigi, sisters Rosetta (Gigetto) and Isabella (Benny), sister-in-law Serafina, and brothers-in-law Giuseppe and Oliviero. He is survived by his wife Alba of 58 years, his daughter Cathy (Dean), sister Lina (Salvatore), brother Sam (Shari), sisters-in-law Maria, Silvia, Piera (Jim) and brother-in-law-John. He is also loved by numerous nieces and nephews.
Vince immigrated to Fernie in 1964 and married Alba in 1966. He was a hardworking man who built a life for his family as a General Foreman in a local coal mine. In retirement, he enjoyed the winter months in Yuma, Arizona. He loved the outdoors and camping and was an avid fisherman.
The Fabiano family would like to thank Dr. Todd Loewen, the staff at Elk Valley Hospital, and especially all the home care nurses for the amazing support and care Vince received. In place of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Diabetes Canada.
