It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Robert “Vern” Houston on July 11, 2023.
Vern was born on November 17, 1941, in Herschel, Saskatchewan to Freeman and Mildred (Greenlees) Houston. In 1943 they welcomed his sister Velma to the family. In 1951 Mildred passed away; with Freeman marrying Amelia Casey (Cormack) and bringing her son, James to join the family. David and Ross were born to complete the family.
Vern was predeceased by his parents and his son-in-law Bill. He is survived by his wife Faye; his daughter Nicole and son Garret; grandchildren Hunter, Dariann, and Emily; great granddaughters Iola and Payton; his sister Velma (Don) and brothers Jim (Lillian), Dave and Ross (Michelle) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Vern’s greatest enjoyment came from spending time at the farm with family and friends, horseback riding in the mountains, and later Ranger riding in the mountains.
His family and friends will forever miss Vern. He was a wonderful partner, father, grandpa and great grandpa.
