Therese KLIMENT

Therese Marie Liliane Langelier Kliment passed away peacefully at her home on September 1st, 2023, in Elkford, B.C.

Therese was predeceased by her parents Camille Langelier and Yolande Lefebvre Langelier and her brother Leo Langelier.

She is survived by her beloved husband Otto Kliment, her sister Colette Langelier (Stephen Currier) and her nieces Marie-Claude and Stephanie Chagnon (Simon Lagagniere).

She was cremated and a family service will be held in St-Hyacinthe, QC at a later date.

Therese was a true free spirit: full of life, happiness and love. When she was a little girl, she saw pictures of the Canadian Rockies and fell in love with the mountains. Then as a young woman, she decided that she wanted to see the mountains in person. This was the beginning of her life long quest. Although she returned to Quebec on different occasions, she always went back to her mountains. Returning to Elkford for the second time in the spring 1991, she met her soulmate, Otto Kliment. They were married October 12th, 1991 and lived in Elkford, B.C., until her passing.

Her life was rich in joy, happiness, adventure and new experiences. She was an artisan in her own right. Her first passion was beads and all types of crafting. She hand-made personal cards for all occasions and sent them to all the people she knew. She won awards for painting murals at her school. At a very young age, she saw some beads on a chain with a cross. She decided that she wanted to do something with those beads. Not understanding what it was, she had taken her father’s Rosary apart to play with the beads. Needless to say, her father was not impressed. If someone could identify the beads, they are in one of her treasure boxes to this day. It was the smallest of things that she treasured the most. When she was twelve years old, her grandmother Bernadette gave her a ring. Therese was still wearing that ring when she passed.

Therese will be remembered by everyone she ever met as a person that had an enormous heart. It was never about her, but everyone else. She avoided any controversy at all costs, even if it meant that she suffered the consequences.

We will miss her laugh, her jokes and her fullness of life. She was that sweet lady with a big heart named Therese.

À Elkford, Colombie-Britannique, le 1er septembre 2023, Thérèse Marie Liliane Langelier Kliment est décédée à l’âge de 69 ans, après un long combat contre la maladie.

Elle était la fille de feu Camille Langelier et de feue Yolande Lefebvre Langelier.

Elle laisse dans le deuil son mari Otto Kliment, sa sœur Colette Langelier (Stephen Currier), ses nièces Marie-Claude et Stéphanie Chagnon (Simon Lagagnière) et son frère, feu Léo Langelier.

Elle a été incinérée et un service sera célébré à St-Hyacinthe à une date ultérieure et elle sera inhumée au Columbarium du Mausolée Ubald Lalime.
