It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa Marie Teeple, who passed away on July 20, 2026, at the Elk Valley Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Born on May 30, 1968, at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Theresa lived her life with a positive spirit, remarkable strength, and an unwavering ability to find her way through even the most difficult challenges. She was a true warrior. No matter what life placed in front of her, Theresa always found a way to come out on the other side.

Theresa loved hard. She wanted the people in her life to know, without a doubt, how deeply they were loved. As a mother, she never ended a conversation without saying, “Love you lots.” It was never a question. It was simply who she was. Her love was constant, unconditional, and freely given.

As a grandmother, Theresa was just as loving and devoted. She wanted each of her grandchildren to know exactly how special they were and how much they were loved by her. Her grandchildren were a tremendous source of joy and pride, and she cherished every moment she shared with them.

Theresa was extremely quick-witted and had a gift for making people laugh. She had a distinctive giggle that was impossible not to join in with, no matter the situation. She was a social butterfly who loved people and had a way of making everyone around her feel welcome. Her long-winded conversations could go on forever, but they were part of what made her Theresa—and they will be deeply missed.

She was also incredibly resourceful. Her superpower was her ability to figure things out, no matter what was thrown her way. A true MacGyver, Theresa could always find a solution and make something out of almost anything.

Theresa was a hard worker and lived many lives throughout her career, including working as a hairdresser, working in the service industry, and starting a cleaning business called ‘All 'Bout Cleaning’. She was especially proud of returning to school to obtain her Health Care Aide certification. She was also a talented karate athlete and was incredibly proud to have represented Team Canada, travelling to Austria where she competed and won two medals. 

In her free time, Theresa loved to fish, cook, and cheer on her beloved Winnipeg Jets and Blue Bombers. She loved being surrounded by family and friends, and she never needed much of a reason to strike up a conversation or share a laugh.

Theresa leaves behind her four children, Sylina, Terry, Andrew, and Jessica, and her four grandchildren, Rylee, Theo, Lennon, and Crosby. She will be deeply missed by her siblings, nieces and nephews, extended family, and countless friends who were blessed to know and love her.

She will be remembered as a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend—a strong woman who faced life’s challenges with courage, a warrior who never stopped fighting, and a woman whose love knew no limits.

Her children will miss her long conversations, her laughter, her unwavering love, and all the little things that made her their mom. These are the memories that will remain: the laughter, the stories, the love, and the certainty that no matter what, Theresa was always there.

Though she is no longer here to say it herself, her children and grandchildren will carry her words with them always:

Love you lots.

Theresa’s love, strength, laughter, and spirit will live on in everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be missed beyond words and loved beyond measure.
