Theresa Anne PIWEK

It is with sad hearts we share the passing of Theresa Piwek on May 18, 2022.

She was diagnosed with cancer and in 2 short weeks we said goodbye. She left behind her sister, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends who will miss her wonderful sense of humour, feisty determination, and strong independence.

Theresa loved gatherings, which always included family, friends, and BBQ’s. The only thing she loved more was being a “sports fan”. She was skilled enough with her TV remote to watch tennis, hockey, and curling all at the same time – wearing out countless remotes. Her passion for reading almost equaled her passion for television.

Her favourite time in her career as a nurse was working at the Tom Uphill Home. She enjoyed her residents and fellow staff. The staff pulled constant pranks on each other as they became great friends.

In Theresa’s words “I am so lucky”.  She loved us all… and we are the lucky ones to have known and loved her.

The Piwek family would like to thank Dr. Lori Gadsden and the staff at the Elk Valley Hospital for their kind and gentle care given to Theresa.
