Our precious mother, Susan Carol Hildebrandt, passed away quietly at her home on Thursday April 17, 2025, surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. She was seventy-four.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Pam (Chuck), Heidi, Carrie (Neil), and Peter (Michelle); siblings, Frank (Ursula), Peter (Avriel), Donna (Ken), Michael (Marilyn) and Colleen (Bill). She was a proud grandmother to Alyssa (Kyle), Zachary, Rebecca, Matthew, Brandan, Kaylee, Jade, Brayden, Austin, Tristan, Katelynn, Tarquin, Khaleesi, and Adassa, and great grandmother to Landon, Jocelynn, Bowen, Sawyer, Pharaoh, and Paisley.
Susan was predeceased by her parents Joan and Irvin Loseth, and her sister Jackie.
Susan devoted her life to her family, always helping, cooking, and taking care of her grandchildren. She was known for exceptional skills in sewing, baking, and cooking; her homemade brownies and pies are surely going to be missed.
She had a talent for sports in her youth, playing basketball, and in her adult life she was a class “A” horseshoe player; to this day, no one could beat her! Believe me, all her children tried, LOL.
Whether it be the head cook at the hilltop restaurant or a scaler/first Aid attendant at Seel Forest Products, Susan’s strong work ethic and kind spirit left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Susan loved to travel and explore her family history. She travelled to England to try to reconnect with her mother’s heritage and to South Dakota to explore her father’s parental history. She also went on a solo trip and flew over the Grand Canyon in a helicopter.
Susan was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her most, offering support, a hot meal, long phone conversations and an abundance of love. She will be deeply missed but will live on forever within the hearts of those who loved her.
Susan never wanted to be the center of attention, so her services will be private for immediate invited family members only.
