Rudolf Zibauer passed away on January 16, 2026, peacefully in Fernie B.C. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia (2021) and his sons, Richard (2005) and Robert (2023).

Rudy was survived by his sons, Michael and Gregory (Lauren) and his wonderful granddaughters, Elise and Livia. He also leaves behind his two sisters and other extended family. 

Rudy was born in Munich, Germany before the Second World War. When he came to Canada he resided in Surrey, BC before settling just outside Elkford, BC. He and Pat spent the next 30 years enjoying the beauty and calmness of the wilderness.

Rudy was a gifted craftsman who had superior skills in welding and fabricating. He enjoyed working on his property and tinkering with vehicles. Rudy also enjoyed playing the accordion and cooking - he especially enjoyed smoking different kinds of meat.
