Richard NIZIALEK

On Monday, June 15, 2020, Richard Nizialek, loving husband and fantastic father of two, passed away suddenly at the age of 69. 

Richard was born August 9, 1950 in Sosnowiec, Poland. In 1975, he left Poland for a better life in Canada. After living in Thunder Bay, Ont. for a time, Richard settled in the Elk Valley where he married his wife, Gosia, in 1981. He worked most of his life as a heavy duty mechanic and spent the last 15 years of his career at Suncor in Fort McMurry until he retired in 2018. 

Richard had a giant heart and was a kind soul who would help anyone at the drop of a hat. He had a passion for knowledge and would love to share it with anyone who would listen.  He loved to spend his time playing the guitar, riding motorcycles, canoeing, woodworking and taking apart electronics just to see how they worked. 

He is survived by his wife, Gosia and his two children, Jennifer and Mark.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 30th at 1:00 pm at Cherished Memories "Serenity Chapel” - 891 4th Ave Fernie, BC. 

Due to COVID-19, the service is limited to 50 people and there will not be a luncheon. Please let the family or Cherished Memories know if you would like to attend. The service will also be available by Zoom for those who cannot attend the service in person. Please email cmfs@shaw.ca for the link.
