Pieter PYNNAKEN

Supported by his family and caregivers, Pieter Pynnaken passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 at the age of 85.

Pieter is survived by his wife Catharina and their 3 sons: John (Charlene), Pieter (Marina), and Fitzgerald (Toni), his grandchildren Christopher, Curtis, Ryan, Zachary, Benjamin, Cassandra, Rylee, and Jaydon, and great grandchildren Eric, Leon, Connell, Zoey, Keelyn and Reyna.

Pieter was born April 10, 1935 in Leiden, Netherlands and married the love of his life on December 21, 1959. In April 1970 they left the Netherlands, creating a new life for their young family in Canada.

Pieter was a hardworking man, and a wonderful, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who enjoyed making others laugh with his sarcastic sense of humour. Standing 6’4”, he was a gentle giant who had a particular weakness when it came to his grandchildren. Pieter loved life and had an adventurous spirit; he was always excited to meet new people and to see new places.

Pieter will be forever loved and missed, but never forgotten.
