Martin John Dahlke passed away on February 3, 2024, at the Fernie Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer. Martin was born in Invermere, BC. He lived most of his adult life in Sparwood, BC. working for Teck as a heavy-duty mechanic, maintenance supervisor, and planner until his retirement in 2021.
Martin loved his family and the beautiful Elk Valley. He was very community minded and an outdoor enthusiast. You would always see him out hiking, biking, skiing, or swimming at the recreational centre. If Martin wasn’t enjoying these activities himself, he was fixing equipment such as the groomer or various items at the golf course, so that others could enjoy these places too.
Martin was predeceased by his father Kurt Dahlke, of Hope, BC, and his brother Pete. He will be terrible missed by his mother Grace Dahlke, of Hope, BC, spouse Nina, sons Christopher and Michael (Tori), stepsons Andrew and Cody, along with his five grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the early Spring, dates to be announced.
