Margaret Theresa Maley passed away peacefully, with her husband by her side, August 3, 2024 in Fernie, BC. She was born September 12,1954 in Edmonton, AB.

Marg was predeceased by her mother and father; Kaye and Hugh, siblings; Heather, Mary and Darcy. She is survived by her husband David and son Christopher (Brittany) Maley; siblings, Sharon (Dan) Marouelli, Hugh (Claudette) MacDonald, Rod (Colleen) MacDonald and Dan (MaryAnne) MacDonald; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Family meant so much to Marg and she will be dearly missed by all of her relatives and friends.

Marg and Dave were married June 19, 1976 in Edmonton. She began a career as an early childhood teacher, which she loved so much and truly loved shaping the lives of her young students. After a turn in her health and she could no longer teach, she turned to her incredible artistic talents and began painting with watercolour, pens and acrylics. Her art became her passion, and her talents grew, she was a very gifted and passionate artist, whose work has and is admired by the many who knew her.

Marg and her family always had a love of animals and growing up, her family’s home could have been referred to as Noah’s Arc. There were always numerous and a wide variety of pets, even a monkey at one point. As an adult, this love continued and there were always dogs, cats, birds, hamsters in her home, as well as a snake and an iguana. She would always try to care for any injured animal she came across in her life and it broke her heart when she was not able to care for them.

Marg was a very caring and loving person, who always put others’ needs before her own. She would never hesitate to help a friend or acquaintance if she was at all able. She loved, cared, and helped the kids in the neighbourhood growing up and to some was thought of as “everybody's mom”. She had a big heart that was never full.

Margie will be dearly missed by all her family and friends; we cannot imagine a world without her.
