Logan GAEDE Obituary

Logan Donald Gaede beloved son, brother, nephew, and friend passed away unexpectedly in his home of Fernie, BC on October 30, 2022.

Born on the 1st of July, 1984, Logan forever thought all Canada Day fireworks were for him. That was clearly the start of his continuous humour which was always accompanied by his infectious laugh.

Logan grew up in High River, Alberta, a place he was forever proud to call home. There he developed his love for sports, a fierce passion for his friends and family, and a start in cooking. He was the type of kid who would cook to avoid cleaning the bathroom, so he enjoyed many quesadilla Wednesdays and pizza Saturdays with his dad! Cooking quickly expanded to a passion that brought delight to all his clients and those who knew him. His culinary magic was experienced in the kitchens of Island Lake Lodge, The Picnic, The Twisted Fork (Vancouver), Bella Coola Heli-Sports, at Fernie Catering Co. with his close friend Barrie, and at Eagle Lodge with Tina.

Loyalty was an important value that Logan continuously demonstrated throughout his life. Anyone who knew Logan can attest to the fact that he was generous, loyal, caring, and compassionate. His family and friends were the most important parts of his life and he deeply appreciated those who loved him.

We think his Gramps waylaid him into a lifelong devotion to golf and the Toronto Maple Leafs, expanding with an equal dedication to the Jays and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (the 2020 miracle!). This devotion was aided and abetted by his sister Becca’s partner, Adam. He was also passionate about frisbee golf in summer, hosting an annual Frisby Jerk event to remember his beloved dog Beamer, and he was an avid snowboarder in the winter.

Logan moved to Fernie after graduating high school. There he gathered an army of incredible friends who have been invaluable in helping us cope with his loss.

He was predeceased by his Grandparents Don and Fran Varey, Margaret and Reinhold Gaede and his cousin Tyler, plus the beloved and still-mourned Beamer.

He is survived by his father Don, mother Kim, sisters Jessie and Becca, almost brother-in-law and fellow sports fan Adam, and cherished niece Natalie, plus uncles, aunts and cousins in Calgary, Ontario, Nova Scotia and France.

Special thanks to Flo, Dustin, Paul and Mark so many more friends who join in celebrating his life.
