Lena Wiebe passed away peacefully in her sleep August 8, 2022 in her home in Jaffray, BC. She was born on May 2, 1953 in Borden, Saskatchewan.
Lena is survived by her husband of 51 years, Henry; her six children: Earl, Teresa (Denis), Kimball, Christopher, Amanda (Robert), and Victoria (Darcy); grandchildren, Tudor, Madison, and Calvin. She will be greatly missed by her many siblings, relatives, and friends.
Lena and Henry married in Saskatoon, in his parent's home, in 1970 on October 17th, Henry's birthday. She was a hard-working parent who took on many roles; mother, nurse, counsellor, cook, seamstress, baker, keeper of secrets, giver of warm hugs, green thumb, storyteller, and so much more. Lena actively read and studied the Bible together with Henry, reading along with Our Daily Bread. She loved books and reading, a wide variety of music, crafting, crocheting, and animals.
Henry and his family would like to thank the paramedics, the RCMP, and John, Lynda, and JJ Gawryluk of Cherished Memories for their care and help during this sudden tragedy. Also, an extra thank you to all the friends, neighbours, and members of the community who called or visited to offer help and condolences.
On Thursday, August 18th from 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM friends are invited to drop by the Sand Creek Senior's Drop In Center and visit with the family as they gather to remember Lena.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM with light refreshments to follow.
