Larry Donald Lansing passed away peacefully in Lethbridge AB on June 21, 2023 with his wife by his side. Larry was 70 years old at the time of his death.
Larry was born in Viking, AB on October 5, 1952 to Donald and Emma Lansing. The family moved to Creston BC in 1957 where they remained until their death.
Larry is survived by his wife, Jane (Bendicson) and daughter Melissa (Colin), 4 grandchildren: Zane, Noah, Alicia, and Katie, and his great grandson Allister. He is also survived by his in-laws Rick (Irene), Tammy (Hank) and Melanie, and his sisters Gloria (Ron) and Marla (Ray) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Glenn.
Larry’s parents described him as a bit of a "wild child". He was a young boy with no fear, demonstrating it every day with his wild and fearless antics. When Larry was a young boy, he started helping his dad fix vehicles. He enjoyed it so much that he went on to be a Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician. He said that by making his hobby his work, he knew he would always enjoy it.
In 1998 Larry opened his own automotive repair shop in Fernie, Lansing’s Brake & Exhaust. He was an artist when it came to creating new exhaust for vehicles. During this time, he challenged his Journeyman Automotive Technician exam and passed, making him dual ticketed.
Larry was a soft-spoken, gentle man who loved his family and animals, especially our little dogs. He had the best one-liners and stories, and he also enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, and camping.
Remember, you are forever in our hearts, and to me you were "Sweetest of All".
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 9th 2023 at Cherished Memories “Serenity Chapel” at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow.
