It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth McConachie, a beloved husband, father, and friend who left us on Monday, December 1, 2025, at the age of 83.


Born on February 6, 1942, in Edmonton, Ken lived a life marked by kindness, hard work, and an unwavering dedication to his family and community.


Ken spent his career as a superintendent foreman at the Elko sawmill for 40+yrs, where his passion and commitment left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure to be on his crew.  Outside of work, he enjoyed family time with the horses, skiing, snowmobiling, camping, hockey, and vacationing with the families. The last few years he was happy spending most of his time hanging with the grandchildren & great grandchildren.


He is survived by his wife, Carol; children: Tammy, Debbie, Shelley (John), Kent (Lorraine) and Kevin (Rosetta); grandchildren: Jackie (Tony), Rylee (Robert), Candice (Alan), Jonathan (Kara), Jordyn (Aaron), Christina (Dave), Christopher (Chantel), Madison, Kevin Jr, Paul (Anissa); great grandchildren: Payton. Cooper, Emily, Harper, Cayden, Jonathan, Blair, Wrenley, Lennon, April, Syrena, Peyton, Gabriel, and sisters: Shirley, Veneta, and Marie (Dave) as well as many nieces and nephews who will forever hold his memory close to our hearts.


His legacy of love, integrity, and warmth will continue to inspire all who knew him.


Ken was predeceased by his granddaughters, Jennifer, and Kyndra as well as his parents, Len and Mary McConachie and sister Joyce.


He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
