It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kelly Lynn Spec on January 21, 2026, in Elkford, BC. She was born on February 22, 1979, in Cranbrook, BC, to Christine Colbourne and Stuart Spec.

Kelly is survived by her child, Rhys Sarkany. She will be deeply missed by many relatives, friends, and community members.

Kelly touched the lives of everyone who knew her. With a contagious laugh and a warm smile for everyone she met, her vibrant personality made all feel welcome in her presence. Sharing great food at her table, walking in nature with friends and loved ones, enjoying a laugh or two, and always being up for an adventure are just some of the many qualities that will be dearly missed.

Of all the passions in her life, none were greater than her love for her son, Rhys. Devoted and adoring, he was the centre of her world and her greatest and most cherished accomplishment.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Elkford Teck Hall on Saturday, February 7th, at 1:00 p.m.
