It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathryn Jean Siska. She was surrounded by the love of her family, friends and incredible care of her nurses and support workers at Rocky Mountain Village.
Kathryn is survived, loved, and missed by her siblings, Marlene (Ken), Reggie, Donald (Leslie), Elinor and Mary Ann (Ian), her nieces and nephews, Amy, Tracy, Chad, Sean, and Sarah, and great nieces and nephews Benjamin, Christopher, Jonathan, Zavier, Charley, Aspen, and Dylan.
Kathryn was predeceased by her father Andrew, mother Kay, brother David and her nephew Robert.
Kathryn attended elementary and secondary school in Fernie, BC. She loved her family, friends, care workers and many others she was surrounded by. She enjoyed going uptown for coffee, lunches and spending time with her sister and best friend, Elinor. One of her favorite things was listening to music and singing along, especially with Reba McIntyre.
With life came challenges for Kathryn, but she always persevered and overcame a lot to thrive independently and show the world she could. She loved to take care of others, always organizing everyone, and ensuring they were doing what was intended. She loved to be the boss and see her instructions well executed!
Kathryn was a beautiful soul and will be missed by all who knew her. Her love for her family was endless.
We would like to thank Dr. Soetaert and staff for all the wonderful care, support and commitment given to Kathryn. A special thank you to Rocky Mountain Village staff, C.B.F.R.S. staff and Nancy Warkentin (Interior Health) for their commitment, and ongoing care and compassion. Thank you for the flowers, food, cards, and kind words.
