Marcel Joseph Pelletier passed away on March 27, 2025 at East Kootenay Regional Hospital with his family by his side.
Marcel is survived by his daughter, Yvonne (Wayne) Sevinski; grandchildren, Landen, and Jocelyn; sisters, Solange and Celine, brothers, Gilles, Maurice (France) and Jacque; brother-in-law, Garth (Jane), sister-in-law, Sheryl (Max) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Coleen; son, Andre; brother, Lawrence; sisters, Rita, and Laurette; mother, Anita (Lizotte) and father, Omer.
Marcel was born June 6, 1942 in Rivière- Blue, Quebec. He later moved to Terrace, BC where he met and married Coleen on November 8, 1969. In the spring of 1971, they moved to Fernie, BC.
Marcel worked in the logging industry and for Kaiser Resources (Westar Mining) until it closed in 1993. They then moved to Faro, Yukon. He worked for Anvil Range Mine. They spent a few years there finally ending up once again in Fernie. Marcel worked at a camp outside of Prince George. He could run any piece of machinery he got into.
He loved to be with his family fishing, hunting, camping, and going into the mountains “where no man has gone before.” There are many stories about the adventures with Marcel. His grandchildren always brought a smile to his face.
He missed his wife, Coleen, after her passing last June, and the moment he took his last breath she was there riding a rainbow to pick him up. They are together again.
The family would like to thank the East Regional Hospital staff for their care for Marcel these last few months along with the day program staff at the FW Green home for always brightening his day.
