Joseph 'Joe' Arthur WHITE

Joseph Arthur White was born July 8, 1951, in North Sydney, Cape Breton, NS to Gordon and Delores White.

Joe moved to Atikokan, ON when he was five years old.  He attended school there, then worked at Steep Rock Iron Mines until February 1979.  Joe then went to work at Fording River in Elkford, BC on F shift until he retired.

Joe enjoyed bowling and golfing with his buddies.  He also enjoyed teaching his nephews how to golf, starting them when they were very young.  He loved all his nieces and nephews and spent time in their company whenever he could.

Joe is survived by his brother, Gordon (Pete) White and wife Laina of Elkford, sisters Harriet Gibbon of Thunder Bay, ON, Ann Lino of Toronto, ON, Cathy Galusha of Fort Frances, ON, Joan (MJ) White of Hampton, NB, and his close niece, Tanis (WHITE) Haugo and her boys Kyle, Brandon and Erik, with whom he was very close to.  Joe had numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him greatly.

Joe is predeceased by his parents Gordon and Delores, brothers Pius and Russel, his niece Tracy White and nephew Mathew Galusha.

There will be no service, as per Joe’s wishes.  In lieu of flowers, he asked that you donate to your favorite charity, have a game of golf, go bowling, or just enjoy life as he did.
