With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Joseph Russell Verhaeghe on May 23, 2024. 

Joe was born March 19, 1987 in Calgary, Alberta and grew up most of his life in Fernie B.C. He is survived by his mother Merrilee Verhaeghe, his father Larry (Tina) Spragg, sister Haley Spragg, his son John Joseph Verhaeghe, daughter Justice Angus, his grandmother Cathy Gentile, and grandfather Russell (Revi) Verhaeghe. Also left to mourn his passing are aunts Melody Verhaeghe and Candace (Chris) Verhaeghe, his uncle Steve Spragg and cousins Amanda, Megan (Joshua), Ashley, Chase, Devon, and Savannah. He was predeceased by his cousin Ryan Verhaeghe.

Joe was a hard-working strong individual, who enjoyed physical labor, outdoors and worked as an industrial painter for many years. He was outgoing and was always willing to help anyone in need wherever possible. Joe had many talents and a love for music, and his family. He will be truly missed and forever remembered.
