It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jarod Bryant, who left us peacefully on December 3, 2024 in Fernie, BC at the age of forty-five. Jarod was sadly diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma cancer in September of 2023. After a strong year of battling his cancer, he succumbed to the disease in the hospital surrounded in the love of his wife and children.

Jarod is survived by his loving wife, Shawna Bryant, and children: Shaelynn, Kaia, Mckale and Jayda. Jarod was predeceased by his loving father, Randy; uncle, Walter; and both sets of grandparents on the Cripps and Bryant side. He will be missed by his caring mother, Debbie; brother, Derek; sister, brother in-law, and nephew, Treena, Jason & Jaxson; his entire family, friends, and community.

Jarod grew up in Okotoks, AB, where he attended Foothills Composite High School. He went on to post-secondary at SAIT to become a red seal in heavy duty mechanics, which he pursued for over 20 years. Jarod, his wife, and children were called to live closer to the mountains, in the community led town of Elkford, BC in 2017, where he expanded his career working at the mines. They have called Elkford, BC home for 7 years now.

Jarod took immense pride in his work and building a career as a heavy-duty mechanic, making friends everywhere he went with his friendly smile, charming demeanor, and the love of shop talk. Jarod was cherished by all that knew him, always having fun sharing stories and joking around.

Family time was cherished with memories of traveling, camping, lake days, and fishing. He loved his days on the lake kayaking around or taking his father's canoe out to fish. Jarod loved construction projects, and the honey do list, when it came to building new things. Learning so much from his late father gave him so much passion for working with his hands. Jarod’s favorite memories were always of his children, watching them grow up, attending their activities, and cheering them on with love.

We thank everyone in the community who has reached out, helped us out, and wrapped us in the amazing love of the Elkford Community. We are truly grateful for living in such a beautiful place and are honored to be thought of and cared for so much.
