James was born in Scotland in 1959 and emigrated with his family in 1961. They first settled in Ontario and later moved to Nelson.
James mastered the craft of roofing and worked alongside his dad, roofing many houses in the East Kootenays.
Although a less than average life span, James did not live an average life. He laughed inappropriately at every chance, learned what he wanted to learn, fixed what he wanted to fix and loved who he wanted to love.
He lived life to the fullest and would never say “no” to something exhilarating and usually dangerous, like a bar stool go cart, barefoot water skiing, and showing the kids how to do tricks on very small bikes.
He loved so big, and he loved his role as “Grandpa James”, emphasized he was “GREAT Uncle James”, to his nieces and nephews and cherished every moment spoiling kids with chocolate and sweets.
Predeceased by his father, Robert Faulds and son, Jamie Faulds, partner Vivian and best friend Jan. He is survived by his mother, Mona, siblings- Alan (Joanne), Seleana (Steve), Norman (Jienna), Tara (Maurice), and Angie (Dan), daughter-in-law Nicole (Colan), granddaughters Abby and Hadley and grandsons Brody and Teddy, numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, and even a few close family friends who he dubbed “like his own blood”.
At his request, there will not be a service held in his honour. Cremation will take place at the family’s convenience, and his ashes will be kept around as long as they match the décor.
The family is asking in lieu of food and flowers, to please make a donation to Angel Flight East Kootenay in James’s name.
We were all so very blessed to have known and loved James, he will be missed beyond words.
