Jack Louis DeLuca

April 26, 1934- June 11,2024

It is with deep sorrow and much love that the DeLuca family announces the peaceful passing of Jack Louis DeLuca on June 11, 2024, at 90 years old, surrounded by his family.

Jack was predeceased by his parents, Mamie and Louis, his brother, Anthony (Sac), and his sister, Marie (Johnson).

Jack was born in Michel, BC and remained in the Elk Valley for all his years. He met and married the love of his life, Pauline (Facca) DeLuca on August 24, 1957. Together they raised their four children, Robert, Barry (Debbie), Louis (Linda), and Linda (DeLuca) Shaw, in the house that Jack built in Sparwood, BC.

Jack will be deeply missed by his wife of over 65 years, Polly, their four children, seven grandchildren: Jenna, Michael, Dayna, Joey, Michael, Tori, and Logan, and five great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Cohen, Connor, Paulina, and Emerek.

We will fondly remember him as a gentle, kind, and loving man who was always welcoming to friends and family alike, ready to bring a smile to everyone around him with a joke or story. His love of this valley, the outdoors, hunting, and fishing will be carried forward through the generations of family his guiding hand has helped to mould and raise.

Jack’s family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the team of physicians and nurses at Kootenay Boundary Regional hospital, with special thanks to his ICU physician Dr. Wood and his Nephrologist Dr. Chi Zhang. In addition, words cannot express how much we appreciate the wonderful care and support the Sparwood dialysis nurses and his family physician, Dr. Loewen, have provided Jack over the years.

The DeLuca family would also like to thank all of their friends and family for their loving support during this difficult time.
