It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Heidi Mois, who left us on October 13th, 2024, at the age of fifty-nine. Heidi was born on June 12th, 1965 in Zurich, Switzerland.

Heidi is survived by her partner Lorne Martens; her children, Maximillan Mois and his wife Shay Mois, her son Eric Mois and his partner Sierra Magnusson, and her son Marius Mois. Heidi is also survived by her brother Franzi Mois and several nieces and nephews.

Heidi was born in Zurich, Switzerland and raised in Munich, Germany. She grew up skiing, climbing, and playing volleyball. She rode motorbikes and was always chasing the thrills of life, one adventure to the next. From an early age she ha a passion for travel; she lived in Africa, all over Europe and of course called every corner of British Columbia home since 1994. Heidi lived many lives; banker, world traveller, cattle farmer, hockey mom and personal trainer just to name a few. But what Heidi took the most pride in was her three boys and the love she found with her partner Lorne. Heidi was a gypsy at heart but all she wanted to do was build a home with a loving partner. A place where everyone could gather and enjoy great food, have a few drinks, and talk about the complexities of life openly and without judgement around a fire. Come as you are and be who you are. A place where family and friends could meet at any given time and know they had a home filled with people who loved them unconditionally.

Heidi always said she would like to find peace in the mountains; she found that peace on October 13th, 2024, in the beautiful mountain home that she and Lorne built in Elkford. She was loved dearly and will be missed by many. No matter the circumstances Heide kept her head held high and walked proudly through life. We as her family will carry on her legacy and will continue to hold our heads high as we mourn the loss of a loving mother, partner and friend. This obituary is only a small piece of the amazing story that is Heidi’s life. Although she is gone in the physical form her spirit lives on with us. Until we meet again, give heaven some hell, Heidi, we love you!
