Evelyn Joan TENNANT

The family of Evelyn Joan Tennant are saddened to announce that our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 24th at the age of 96. She was born January 17, 1927 in Michel, BC to parents William and Johanna Laurie.

Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Hugh, sons Leslie and Raymond, brothers Bill and George, and her son-in-law Wayne. She is survived by her children Lorna (Terry) Nowoselski, Pat (Sammy) Nye, and William (Marilyn) Tennant; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three step grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren. Each and every one of her grandchildren meant the world to her! Also left to mourn her passing are several nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.

Evelyn met the love of her life, Hugh Tennant, while he was working in Michel. The couple married in June of 1951 and were blessed with almost 52 years together before his death in 2003.

Though petite in stature, Evelyn lived life in a big way! She enjoyed Bingo with her friends, but she will always be fondly remembered for her love of dance. Evelyn would dance anywhere and everywhere ….. to any kind of music! If there was a dance floor, she was on it!

Above all else, Evelyn’s world revolved around her love of family. Happiest when her home was full, Evelyn happily shared her love of cooking and baking, passing on her favorite recipes that will be treasured for generations.

Evelyn truly embraced life, living each day to it’s fullest. Her sparkling eyes and her beautiful smile will be missed by so many.
