Douglas James Coutts also known as Jim & “Couttsie” left us far too soon on June 7th, 2025 at the age of sixty.
Jim leaves behind his partner, Penny; son, Travis (Kim); daughter, Jessie (Keeley); sister, Norma (Dennis); brother, Ken; his dogs, Luna & Maya; numerous nieces, nephews, and many good friends.
Jim was predeceased by his son, Clayton; brother, Bob; parents, Harry, and Ruth, and his two other dogs, Aiden and Ruby.
Jim was born to Harry and Ruth Coutts on June 21st, 1964. Between living in Saskatchewan and BC Jim created many great connections, eventually settling back in Elkford with his family again in 2001. Jim had a contagious laugh and a quick wit about him, always wanting to brighten up a serious conversation or a hard day. Jim had a passion for his previous career in road construction, as well as his final career as a warehouseman at Fording River. His other passions included his days of riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, spending time with one of his best friends, Bucky and his family on Kootenay Lake, and of course his biggest passion, his dogs.
Jim’s family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love during this time when we need it most. Please continue to share stories and pictures of our favourite guy, there was truly never a dull moment with him around.
