Donald RAHAL

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, JoJo, Grandpa, and friend. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Garry) Gleisner, Melanie (Wilf) Serwatkewich, and Dawn Rahal; his grandchildren, Tyson (Kayla), Tanner (Kaitlyn), Taylor (Brandon), and Nicole (Joseph) and his great grandchildren, Harlow, Everly, and Hayes.

Don is predeceased by his wife, Sandra, his parents John & Grace, his brother Kenny, and numerous friends & family.

Don was born in Calgary, AB but raised in Fernie, BC. In 1963, Don & Sandra where married and briefly resided in Red Deer, AB. There they joyfully welcomed their daughter, Cindy, before returning to their roots in Fernie to take care of the family business, Jno. Rahal’s Ladies & Men’s Wear. They continued to grow their family with the arrival of Melanie and Dawn.

Don’s greatest joy was his lawn. He spent hours upon hours ensuring his yard was immaculate. Often resting in his lawn chair where many friends would stop by for a chat and a can of beer. He also enjoyed playing crib at the Senior’s Centre, golfing (especially beating Wilf), curling, fishing, tending to his tomatoes, and reading.

Don was a long-time member of the 3300 Club, where he made many long-lasting friendships and memories, and perfected his meat cutting skills. His daughters will fondly cherish their memories of the yearly Christmas party and picnics at Rosen Lake.

Don will always be remembered for his kindness, quick wit, and dapper dress.
