Colleen passed at Kelowna General Hospital May 30,2024 after a very brief illness. Born April 15,1959 in Vancouver, BC, to Margaret and John McMullen, she was the younger sibling to brother, Colin.
Although Colleen grew up in Burnaby, she spent every possible summer in Fernie. She would stay with her Nana and Papa Stewart. She spent hours with her cousins who would form a bond more like siblings. Many of these days were spend out at Rock Lake. It was always on of her favourite spots.
In the early 80's Colleen made her home in Fernie until she moved to the Okanagan to settle down and raise her girls. She was so proud of them. Any time she spoke of them, her face would lite up.
Colleen loved from her core, she was full of gratitude, and free spirited. Her smile would lift anyone’s spirits, her laugh would fill the room, and her love for her family was indescribable. Her hugs had a way of releasing all your stress too.
Colleen made her home the past 34 years in Peachland BC, but her heart was always in Fernie...
Colleen is survived by her three daughters, Chenoa (Carey), Aleah (Calvin), and Tehya (Josh), her mom, Margaret, her auntie Cookie (Marion Matthews) and many friends & family. She was predeceased by her dad (John McMullen) & brother Colin.
“Little by Little we let go of loss, but never of love”
