Carol TENNANT Obituary

Carol Ann Tennant (Nee Endicott)

Peacefully, with family members by her side, Carol Ann Tennant of Elkford BC, passed away on December 31 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Carol was born in Birmingham, England on December 12, 1954, to parents Victor and Irene Endicott. With her family, she emigrated to Canada in 1957 to a mining town in Northern Quebec. She was the second born of six children. Before Carol started school, the family moved back to England for a couple of years and then returned to Canada for good. In 1973, in the midst of the FLQ crisis, the family decided to move West and settled in Sparwood, then later moved to Elkford.

Carol graduated from Sparwood Secondary School in 1974. Upon graduation, she worked at Fording Mine as a dispatcher. There she met the love of her life, Rick Tennant. They were married on November 6, 1976. Together, they had two children: a son, Craig followed by a daughter, Jennifer. They raised their two children in Elkford. Carol later worked as a cook with her dad at the Golf Course Restaurant Buddy Buddies. Carol loved to do crafts and often made Christmas decorations and ornaments which she gifted to her family members. She loved to bake and soon became known as “The Cake Lady” Her creations were fabulous, and she spent many hours making them perfect and selling them for next to nothing. She loved to gamble, be it trips to Vegas with Rick, her mom, or her friends, or playing weekly family card games, and weekly Texas Hold’Em games with friends. She loved to play Bingo and traveled with her mom and friends to Fernie or Pincher Creek to take in a game and always made sure her lottery numbers were put on.

Carol was predeceased by her husband, Rick; brothers, Clive, and Anthony; father, Victor; mother, Irene and great nephews, Devon, and Austin.

She is lovingly survived by her son, Craig; daughter, Jennifer (Clinton); grandchildren, Jacob, and Sarah; brothers, David (Barbara) and Derek (Jewel) and sister and best friend, Debbie (Tony).

Favourite Auntie Carol is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews who loved her very much. Carol is also survived by numerous relatives still living in England.
