On October 12, 2025, after a most courageous battle with cancer. Bonnie Lynn Fiset spent the day among family, friends, good food and love before she peacefully departed this world to go on her next adventure. She was born on September 14, 1966, in Swan River, Manitoba.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, David Fiset; Children, Chantelle Wilder (Terry), Nichole Fiset (Tristan); grandchildren, Colin, Corbin, Chevy (Chantelle) and Ethan, Maci (Nichole). She will be sorely missed by a large extended family and friends.
Bonnie and Dave were married December 14, 1990, in Elkford BC. Shortly after they relocated to Fernie, BC. Bonnie was well known for her cooking skills at the “Back Room Café” then at the “Bears Den” on the Fernie ski hill. Once the girls were in Elementary School the family relocated back to Elkford.
When the girls were in cadets (279 Elk Valley Air Cadets) Bonnie volunteered as a supply officer and then later became a CI (civilian instructor). From winter camp outs, to long road trips, sleeping on cement floors, dealing with emotional teenage girls and being up at the crack of dawn. She was there through it all, always smiling!
Bonnie later became a school bus driver for School District 5, starting in Elkford for Rocky Mountain Elementary. When Dave retired and they relocated to Grasmere she drove the Grasmere to Jaffray bus. She went out of her way to make sure that she got to know each little soul that climbed up those stairs. Music and laughter, jokes and smiles, Bonnie was a soul warmer. She touched many little hearts on that big yellow bus and will be very missed.
Bonnie was strong, stubborn, and determined. Organized (oh the lists!!), punctual and bossy!!! All traits that she passed on to us girls, haha. Thanks momma!
Bonnie was always up for an outdoor adventure. From “adventure walks” (if you know you know), sledding, skiing (downhill and cross country), water skiing, biking, there are so many to list. We were never bored or stuck in the house. If we woke up to fresh snow in the morning, SKI DAY! If it was hot out, LAKE DAY! Fresh chocolate chip cookies when we arrived home from school, delicious made with love lunches, her smile. There are so many memories they could fill a book. She was an amazing, loving, giving person. Until we meet again. We Love you to the moon and back fucker!
