It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, and sister Bernice Catherine Vandenberghe (nee Manning) on December 28, 2023, with family at her bedside.
Bernice will be lovingly missed by her husband of 60 years, Fred; children, Rhonda (Ken), Allan (Tawan), and Jody (Stephen); grandchildren, Amanda (Scott), Shawn (Sarah), Sarah (Kadin), Tyson (Alexis), and great grandchildren, Hunter, Ryder, Sawyer, and Summer.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, brother, and 3 sisters.
Bernice was born on May 9, 1941, in Pilot Mound, Manitoba where she spent her early years before moving away to become a nurse, and meeting her husband, Fred. They married in June of 1963 and went on to raise 3 beautiful children.
Bernice loved animals and spent many years on the family farm raising sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, horses, dogs, and cats.
She was a special lady and will be dearly missed and remembered by her family and friends.
A special thank you to Dr.Soetaert and the incredible nurses at the Elk Valley Hospital.
