Albert PETERS

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Peters. Albert passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025, at Fernie Hospital with his wife and children by his side. Albert was born in Fernie B.C. on April 16th, 1939.

Albert was a cherished and caring husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He also had many nephews, nieces and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Hugo and Maxsine (nee Mason), brother Bernie (Vicki), and sister Sophie (Tiki). Albert is survived by his wife Carrie, his daughters Sherry (Dwayne), Norine (Dan), and his son Roland (Krista), in addition to his grandchildren- Tyson, Justin, Jessica, Megan, Matthew, Julia, and Adria- and great grandchildren- Blair, Caleb, and Tavis.

Albert was an avid outdoorsman, thoroughly enjoying hunting and fishing, with his wife Carrie always by his side. Dear to him was the South Country area which will always be a special place for his family. Albert worked for CPR for 10 years and then for the coal mine in Sparwood until he retired, after which he found great pleasure in farming with his wife Carrie.

Albert was a fixture in the community, always out for a walk and even riding his bike up until the first snowfall this past winter. He loved visiting the local A&W, Tims, and Subway with Carrie.

Alberts family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Doctors and Nurses at the Fernie Hospital for the caring and compassionate care given to Albert.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
