Akiko (nee Suto) Kimoto died peacefully on January 12, 2024, at the age of 90 in Fernie, BC. She was born on February 25, 1933, in Lion Island, BC.
Aki is survived by two sons, Tom of Fernie and Dwayne (Paula) of Langley and one daughter, Brenda of Calgary. Aki is also survived by her grandchildren, William, Aimee, Matthew, Jason, Lauren, and Megan; 5 great grandchildren, Calvin, Dexter, Jasper, Everly and Miles; two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Tsutomu (Stumpo), two daughters, son-in-law, two brothers, sister, and her parents.
Aki enjoyed playing cards and mah jong with her many friends at the Seniors Centre. She also enjoyed her Tuesday morning coffee with the girls, camping and fishing and her many years of participation in the BC Seniors Games.
The Kimoto family would like to thank Dr. Michal and the staff at the Sparling East Medical Centre.
There will be no funeral service at her request. In lieu of flowers and koden, please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society in her memory.
