Ian "Buzz" VANDALE

On Wednesday, August 7th, supported by his caregivers and loved ones, Ian Neil Vandale, a.k.a. “Buzz”, passed away following an eighteen-month battle with cancer. He was born in Weyburn, SK on September 1, 1960, the ninth of ten children born to Joseph and Mary Vandale.

Buzz moved from Saskatchewan to Elkford in 1979, and on August 7, 1981 he married his soulmate and best friend, Gail Grieve. He spent 38 years working in Coal Processing at the Fording River, Quintette and Greenhills mines. Buzz retired on October 27, 2017 with dreams of retiring on his land in the South Country, as well as travelling in his motorhome with his golf clubs and Harley in tow.

Rest in Peace, Buzz. Till we meet again …..

Buzz is survived by his wife Gail and their children: Sarah, Jessica and Joshua, his granddaughter Lydia, and siblings Ariel, Steve, Gladys, Donald, Michellene, Elaine, Bonnie and Una as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Mary and Joseph, his brother Arthur, and his son Kane.
