Dony Ernest BRUNEAU

With his devoted son Darcy at his bedside, Dony passed away peacefully at Rocky Mountain Village on Friday, October 19th at the age of 81. He was born on August 14, 1937 to parents Ernest and Nellie Bruneau.

Dony is survived by his children: Darcy Bruneau of Elko, Donny Bruneau of Calgary, and Sharon Bruneau of Vancouver, his sisters: Barb Adams and Jean Novak of Ontario, and his dear friend Margaret Blumhagen of Fernie. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth in 2005.

In 2003, Dony and Elizabeth moved from the big city of Calgary to the beautiful mountains of Jaffray; one of Elizabeth’s final wishes as she battled terminal cancer.

For a few years following Elizabeth’s death, Dony drove truck for Jimmy Czeh, doing the run from Fernie to Grand Forks until he retired at the age of 70.

Dony loved animals and shared his home with many pets including 6 dogs, a cat and a budgie bird. He also enjoyed music; playing his guitar and singing with friends Bill Bolen and Margaret Blumhagen.

Dony will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
