A lifetime resident of the Elk Valley, 68-year-old Dennis Michael “Pout” Reghenas, died suddenly on Monday, February 18, 2019.
Dennis was born in Michel, BC on April 3, 1950 to parents Silvio and Rosie Reghenas. Following high school, Dennis began working at the Esso gas station. Shortly afterwards he started what would become his lifelong career – truck driving with Kiki & Sons, Dolfo Trucking and Manitoulin.
In 1972 he married the love of his life, his “Sweet Annie”. Over a 12-year period, four children would complete their family; Dennis Jr. (1975), Suzanne (1978), Laura (1981) and David (1987).
Dennis shared his passion for fly fishing and hunting in the “No-Tell-Em-Creek” area with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed mushroom and berry picking, leather work, and coin collecting. Dennis was an exceptionally skilled horseshoe player who took home many trophies, and was an avid New York Rangers hockey fan.
A man who was selflessly devoted to his family, Dennis has left many precious memories and will be forever missed.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 46 years, Anna Reghenas; 2 sons: Dennis Jr. (Cami) Reghenas and David (Chantelle) Reghenas; 2 daughters: Suzanne (Shane) Sprlak and Laura (Mike) Campbell; his grandchildren Harlee, Chase, Taylor, Hunter, Wyatt, Linden, Kesler, Leighton, Julia and Sophiah and his brother Raymond (Pat) Reghenas as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Peter.
