Phyllis passed away peacefully with family by her side, Friday, March 15, 2024, at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, BC. She has been reunited with her son Todd who predeceased her in 2019.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Tiny; daughter Teri; grandchildren Evan and Connor; extended family, Keith, Lisa, Dylan, and Blake Plummer; her sisters, Louise (Clyde), Doreen (Dino), and her nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many other relatives and friends including her fur babies, Maggie, and Bella, (Nelson and Douglas).
Phyllis was born March 30, 1940, in Nelson, BC. She spent all her school years in Nelson and afterwards, for a short time, worked for BC Tel. She met Tiny in Nelson, and they were married there in June of 1964. From Nelson they moved to Cranbrook and then on to Fernie where they raised their two children, Teri, and Todd.
In later years Phyllis and Tiny moved to Galloway where they resided until moving to the Tom Uphill Home, in Fernie, in 2019. In favorable weather you would see Phyllis riding on her scooter following closely behind Tiny on his scooter, visiting A&W for coffee or the Seniors Centre for lunch. Phyllis loved to fish, play bingo and scrabble, enjoyed her sister trips, and hitting the Keno machines in Eureka! When Todd would take her, he always said “bet max Mom!”
Being around people and her grandchildren made her the happiest!
She will be forever remembered in our thoughts and hearts!
The Shatosky family would like to thank Dr. Riddell, of Fernie and Dr. Hodgson, of Cranbrook and the exceptional, compassionate loving care from the ICU nurse, Maria. In lieu of flowers please donate to the “Hot Lunch Program” at Aqamnik School, 7500 Mission Road, Cranbrook, BC.
